Do Meg’s Glass Creations contain lead?
We use leaded solder which, though it becomes a different metal compound, still contains traces of lead. On some pieces (which will always be identified) we use lead came. Lead came is a solid lead “channel” that surrounds the glass pieces. Our creations should never be eaten or put into one’s mouth in any way. Continuous handling or rubbing, especially with any sort of rough or abrasive surface could release lead particles which may be harmful. With proper care exposure should be minimal. Please wash hands after handling any stained glass piece.
How do I clean Meg’s Glass Creations?
Use a soft, lint free cloth and your favorite non-abrasive dusting product. A gentle soap or Dawn dish detergent may be needed for particularly stubborn dirt. Avoid deep cleaning by dusting often. Those especially sensitive might consider wearing gloves when cleaning. Please wash hands after handling any stained glass piece.
